A Woman Notices A Mother With Her Infant In The Freezing Cold, Gives Them Their Best Christmas Ever

December 27, 2014

A woman casually looking out her window noticed a mother pushing her baby in the snow - the baby flailing his arms.

Denise Wehrkamp immediately jumped in her car and caught up to the mother and child. She offered them a ride to the store and some help with food and clothes.

After dropping the family off at a Budget Inn in in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, she decided something needed to be done and asked her coworkers for help.

Denise was able to raise $365 to buy the family of five - four young kids and their mother - presents just in time for Christmas along with a whole turkey dinner and some additional groceries.

Denise says she hopes to be a part of their lives for many years to come.

"I know we're supposed to be Jesus's hands and feet on Earth," Denise told KELOLAND News. "And that's what I feel like we're doing here. Just loving people because Jesus has blessed us and we want to bless others."
