100 Year-Old Woman Sees The Ocean For The First Time
November 21, 2014
Meet Ruby Holt.
Ruby is a 100-year-old Tennessee native who spent her entire life helping others.

She raised four children while working in a shirt factory and picking cotton. She always wanted to travel but never had the money or time.

She mentioned off hand to a nurse at her care facility that she had never been to the ocean. In fact she had only ever left Tennessee once in her life.

Ruby, who turns 101 in December, was secretly submitted to the Wish of a Lifetime foundation by the staff.

She was selected by the foundation, and brought to the Perdido Beach Resort in the Gulf of Mexico.

"I've heard people talk about it and how wonderful it was and wanted to see it, but I never had the opportunity to do so," Ruby said.

When asked how the water felt as she felt it for the first time she said, "It's cold!"

"We don't have nothing like this in Giles County [Tennessee]"

Happy Birthday, Ruby.
