Owen and Emmett Ezell were joined at the abdomen and chest when born last July. They shared a liver and bowels and suffered from a rare medical condition where their intestines were outside their bodies.

The twins had been hospitalized since their separation last August. They spent the past several months moving from a feeding tube to an IV to their current state, breathing on their own and healing from their surgery.

Strangers around the world have donated to help the family pay for the medical expenses. Proud parents David and Jennifer left this heartfelt message on their blog:

"Dave and I would like to thank you for all the prayers, love, and support that we have received so far and continue to receive every day."
