Two Mangoes
By tracie • February 8, 2024
Lucky enough to be on a mini holiday break and whilst shopping earlier today, we came across two Japanese tourists trying to make a purchase.
Neither of their cards would work and, because of language difficulties, both tourists and the lovely woman serving them were unable to complete the sale.
It wasn't a really large amount so I, politely, leaned across, tapped my card and the sale was complete.
Just that teeny act of kindness seemed to make the three lovely women so happy.
So happy that one of the tourists thrust two mangoes at me, as a way of thanking me I'm guessing. I burst out laughing because it was so random and next moment we were all in hysterics and laughing and then speaking to each other in languages neither of us understood.
That's going to be my best holiday memory.
