There's A New Reality TV Show About Cats Called 'Keeping Up With The Kattarshians'

February 22, 2017

A TV producer in Iceland has created the world's first online reality show about cats.

"Keeping Up With The Kattarshians" is filmed at a local animal shelter where 4 kittens live in an oversized dollhouse. The house has 3 hidden cameras that live stream all the action.

"It was a cute idea from a colleague of mine, Þórhallur Gunnarsson," the show's producer Inga Lind Karlsdóttir tells Vice. "One day he said to me he really wanted to do a show involving cats living in a little house. Everyone else started laughing, but I said, 'Let's do this.' I have my own TV production company, so we decided to work on it together."

And just like that, Keeping Up With The Kattarshians was born. The show has already attracted the highest-ever traffic to Icelandic broadcaster Nutiminn's website.

"All the people who were laughing then aren't laughing now," Karlsdóttir said.
