There's A .Gov Website Where You Can Opt-Out Of All Junk Mail In Less Than 1 Minute

Tired of having your mailbox crammed with unsolicited mail, including preapproved credit card applications? Fed up with getting telemarketing calls just as you're sitting down to dinner? Fuming that your email inbox is chock-full of unsolicited advertising?
The good news is that you can cut down on this significantly by learning where to "just say no!"
Not many people are aware of this, but there's an FTC .gov website where you can OPT-OUT of nearly all unsolicited junk-mail (preapproved credit cards, insurance, etc.) in less than one minute.

The form asks for your SSN but it is NOT required.
"Your Social Security Number is not required to process an Opt-Out request through OptOutPrescreen.com," the FAQ explains. "However, we strongly urge you to provide this information because it helps to ensure that we can successfully process your request."
