A man recreated a 20-year-old photo of him cuddling his cat before putting his best friend to sleep.
"Putting my childhood cat to sleep today, and did my best to recreate a 20 year old picture," he wrote on Reddit. "I will always love you Gandalf."

According to the owner, Gandalf actually came with a brother, a brown one they humorously named Mordor. His family acquired them together from a neighboring state. "Why my parents thought a nine-year-old needed a purebred ragdoll, I'll never know!" he said.
Mordor sadly succumbed to cancer at just three years old and had to be euthanized.
"Gannie has lived enough for them both now," he said.
The comments section quickly filled with words of support, as people shared personal stories about their own pets.
"The most difficult thing we have to do is say goodbye to our cherished pets. They have seen us at our worst. They listen intently and keep all secrets. They love unconditionally. The memories will always be with you."
"It’s hard to put into words what closing the book on a two decade old absolute saga feels must feel like. Rest easy Gandalf. You were loved."
"Heartbroken for you. People who don't have cats think they are selfish and aloof creatures, those of us who do, realize their love and trust is hard-won, and absolute when they give it."
