All Good News

Recently I overcame one of the biggest hurdles I ever faced. About a month prior I decided to take on a task that I had deemed daunting for some time now. You always hear that the best way to overcome your fear is to just face it. You must make up your mind to deal with it and then just do it. That's what I did, and to my surprise it started off much better than I could have ever hoped for. So much so I had garnered for myself the applause of all who had witnessed it. Being fed from the plate of such praise I thought I might have a chance now to finish the task the way I started it, but deep down my mind still resided on the path of uncertainty.

Unfortunately that lack of self confidence cost me the beautiful finale I had once performed in my head. What was to be one of the best memories of my life seemed forever ruined by a very simple mistake. I was so broken down it bothered me for weeks.

However, there was an opportunity for me to redeem myself. I had two options, let my disappointment devour me and give up, or get up and try again. I chose the latter. I managed to clothe myself in the courage needed to take on that part of the task again and just last week I completed it properly. In fact it turns out that I did much better than I probably would have done the month before. I was relieved. But more importantly it showed me something – we all have what we need to be a winner in us already. The main thing I changed the second time around was just my way of thinking.

It is up to us to choose to use whatever talents we have to the best of our abilities. We all have seeds of greatness on the inside; we just need to nurture it so that it grows. This way we can bear good fruit to share with the world. God has a purpose for our lives and He made us to fulfil the destiny He has planned for us; He made us to be champions in our own right. The fact that we were born proves we were made to be victors.

So when it comes on to the rollercoasters of life I won't think of success as being in a lost and found. I did not "comeback" around to success, the potential for success was always there. For all of us, the potential for success IS always there.
