Every Year, The Mother Of A Fallen Officer Invites All DC Officers Over For Christmas Dinner
December 16, 2016
The mother of a fallen police officer has found a wonderful way to cope with not having her son around during the holidays: she opens her home to hundreds of local law enforcement officers for an early Christmas dinner.
Each year since her son Brian's 1997 death, Shirley Gibson opens her home to honor Washington D.C. police officers and prepares her son's favorite holiday meals.
"They're all my kids now," Gibson says of DC police officers. "And they hug me, and it feels like Brian."
