February 15, 2016
French nuns who were in danger of being evicted from their soup kitchen have won a reprieve, thanks to an unlikely benefactor — business coach and motivational speaker Tony Robbins.

The three nuns were in dire straits; having lived out of their building and fed hundreds of homeless people in the last eight years, the landlord declared that if the nuns wanted to stay, they'd either have to pay rent with a 60% increase or get out.
Robbins read about the plight of the Fraternite Notre Dame Mary of Nazareth Soup Kitchen in the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper and decided to stop by while he was in the area.

His hour-long meeting with them quickly turned from a sympathy visit to a mutual admiration fest. By the end of it, Tony was so impressed by their compassion he handed them a $25,000 check and a promise that the landlord would not try to evict them for the next year.
He also promised them $25,000 in advance for the following year, so they could find a new place to continue their holy work.
Tony's act of kindness has spurred others to create a crowdfunding page to support the sisters' work because their only source of income is selling their pastries at local farmers markets. An additional $12,000 has been raised in just five days.
