August 18, 2015
A man who dressed as Batman and drove a custom-built "Batmobile" to brighten the lives of sick children has sadly passed away. 51 year-old Lenny B. Robinson was struck and killed by a motorist while pulled over on the side of the road.
Here's what you should know about this hero...

Lenny decided to start giving back after he sold his cleaning business.
Lenny started a commercial cleaning business when he was a teenager, and sold it to start giving back. He became interested in Batman through his son Brandon, who was obsessed with the caped crusader when he was little.
He spent thousands of dollars each year visiting and giving out toys to sick children.
One dad shared:
"Lenny Robinson with my late son Josh [pictured above] ... R.I.P. Lenny, you were a great man... Give Josh a hug for me!"
"Josh passed away August 6, 2014 from complications from leukemia. This was of the only times in the hospital that he truly smiled."
The charity Hope For Henry shared:
"Lenny B. Robinson was such a good friend to Hope for Henry. We lit up the Bat Signal whenever we had an event at a local hospital and Lenny would jump in the Batmobile and respond immediately. He joined us for our most recent Superhero Celebration at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital where he helped tell the story of Hope for Henry and its work improving the quality of life for children fighting serious illness. We will always love Lenny and our hearts go out to his family and all who mourn his death."
Lenny began visiting sick children in hospitals in 2001.
He also visited schools to talk with kids about bullying.

He leaves behind three children of his own, who are now adults.
Will the story end with Lenny? Only time will tell, but this we know...
"Batman is a symbol. As a man he can be killed, beaten, but as a symbol... he can be more. He can be hope."
R.I.P Lenny. Your actions will not be forgotten.
