This Looks Very Bizarre, But It's Absolutely Incredible. You Won't Believe Your Eyes

London based artist Ron Mueck has taken sculpting to a whole new level. As a former puppeteer for popular television shows and movies, Mueck now creates hyper-realistic human sculptures that keep museum visitors staring for hours.

So how does he do it? His creative process sees him sculpt in clay, make a plaster mould around the form and then replace the clay with a mixture of fibreglass, silicone and resin.

Their skins folds gently, hair sticks out of pores and they have tangible sheens of sweat across their body as they spoon in bed.

Part of his work's allure is that he constructs the likenesses of human beings, while playing with scale - some of his figures are alarmingly large, while others are pint-sized - although they are equally realistic regardless of their dimensions.
