Reddit user destinyvendetta found old correspondence letters a soldier sent his grandmother during World War II.

"I don't have much information about him aside from an Outpost address," he wrote, noting that his grandmother has since passed away. "But he has drawings in all of his letters and I'm trying to find out who he is!"

After more research, he learned the soldier's first name: John "Skinny" M.
