Surgeons Found A Brilliant Way To Help Kids With Thigh Cancer Enjoy An Active Life

For above-knee amputations in children with thigh cancer, the foot and calf are rotated 180 degrees and reattached. The ankle now functions as the knee joint - a process called Rotationplasty.
This surgery gives children and young adults with a lifetime in front of them increased mobility and freedom that is a significant improvement over the use of a traditional above-knee prosthesis.
